Daniel C Hansen

Daniel Carl Hansen, 69, of Davenport, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, March 4, at 2 p.m., at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. There is no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be left at rungemortuary.com.
Daniel was born May 15, 1944, in Moline, the son of Carl Christian and Astrid Frederickson Hansen. He was united in marriage to Susan Wanzel on Sept. 2, 1967, in Davenport.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1962 until 1966; stationed on the USS Saratoga. He had been employed for 30 years at ALCOA before his retirement in 1996. He enjoyed duck hunting, fishing and playing ducky with his dog, Millie. Dan was an avid sports fan, and especially loved watching any teams his grandchildren were playing on and watching the Chicago Bears. Being a staunch Republican, he loved watching the "O'Reilly Factor" and any political debating.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Susan, Davenport; daughters, Jamie (Jeff) Rosecrans, Brimfield, Ill., and Angela (Daniel) Campbell, Rock Island; grandchildren, Ryan, Sara and Jacob Rosecrans; grand fur babies, Mojo, Oskar and Greta; brother, David (Joan) Hansen, Silvis; sister, Dora Jean Hansen, Moline; brother-in-law, Bob (Barb) Wanzel, St. Louis, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Sharon Harrod (Grant)

I remember Danny well from Roosevelt right through Moline High School.  He was always such a nice person.  My condolences to his family.  It sounds like he was a much loved husband, father, and grandfather.  Anyone with grand fur babies is a special person.
