Today was a hot, August day.  After power washing our deck I came in and cooled off with a couple of root beers I poured over ice.  As I took my first sip a memory from fifty years ago flashed through my mind.  Don and I, after football practice on a hot August day, driving to a root beer stand and getting a quart of ice cold root beer (they sold it that way in 1960) and quenching our thirst.  Little did I realize then that I would remember doing that with Don a half a century later.  Don was a lot of fun and a great guy.
