I remember Mike as my best friend in high school. He was smart, funny, and interested in lots of things. One of his great loves was his '64 GTO that he bought new and intended to keep forever. He graduated from Northwestern University and was immediately drafted into the army and sent to Viet Nam. When he returned he went to work for the Moline park district while waiting for the fall term to begin to get a degree in advertising. He was involved in an accident with a riding mower on the job and was hospitalised for a long time. His right elbow had to be fused which limited his activities for the rest of his life. He did get that degree in advertising and worked in that field off and on for many years.

I think of Mike on this Memorial Day. Viet Nam was hard on Mike and he wasn't the same person I knew in high school after that. I tried to keep in touch with him but would loose contact for long periods of time. I was truely saddened to learn of his death. Ken Storms
