Joeseph W "Skip" Green VIEW PROFILE

Joseph “Skip” W. Green, Jr., 78, of East Moline, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022, at his home.
Cremation rites will be accorded, and memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, July 29, 2022, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Memorial visitation will be one hour prior to services. Memorials may be made to Quad City Animal Welfare Center.

Joe was born on May 19, 1944, in Arlington, Virginia, the son of Joseph W. and Aileen (Anderson) Green, Sr. He married Victoria Salmon in Rock Island.  Joe later married Susan Francis in 1990, in Cleveland, IL. He was previously employed as the Vice President of KVF Quad Corporation in East Moline, retiring in 2010. He also worked as a quality control consultant for ISO during his work at KVF. He was a talented artist, focusing on wood carving and donated many of his pieces to the Festival of Trees. Joe devoted much of his life in service to others as a friend of Bill, but most important was his love for his family.

Survivors include daughter, Jennifer (Michael) St. Clair, East Moline; mother, Aileen Day, Rock Island; grandchildren, Cassidy Green, East Moline, McKenzie Green, East Moline, and Joseph Rocker, East Moline; great grandchildren, Bailee Merrill, Hailee Merrill, and Ariah Pardo; and sister, Sandra Vas, Marshalltown, IA.

He was preceded in death by his father.

I remember Skip from high school days and also as an athlete. Some people make an indelible impression even though you haven't seen them for decades.  He was easy going, hardly ever ruffled, and comfortable to be around. Throughout life, it sounds like people enjoyed and benefited from his presence. Well done!

You can't picture Skip without a smile.  Always friendly.  In our Air Force days long ago we just happened to run into Skip at the St. Louis airport and had a short but friendly talk.  Then after we returned to live in Moline our daughter was in the same classroom in school before Skip and family moved to East Moline.  Nice guy.
