Jerry Richard Robinson, Sr., age 68 of Coal Valley, died Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Saint Anthony's Health and Rehabilitation Center, Rock Island.

Visitation is from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 13, at Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 4309 Blackhawk Road, Rock Island. Interment will follow at Rock Island National Cemetery on Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to the church.

Jerry was born on March 27, 1944 in Rock Island, the son of John Edmund and Lois Jane (Coral) Robinson. He joined the Navy in 1965 and was a Vietnam veteran. He married Judith Carroll on August 19, 1967 in Rock Island.

Jerry was the owner and operator of J.R.'s Locksmith Shop in Coal Valley, retiring in March of 2011 after 34 years in the business. He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, Rock Island, where he served as a deacon and also drove the church bus.

Survivors (and spouses) include his wife Judith, Coal Valley; daughter, Jennifer Jolene (David) Cutkomp, Coal Valley; sons, Jerry R. (Teri) Robinson, Jr., Lee's Summit, MO, and Joseph (Cindy) Robinson, Colona; 10 grandchildren; a brother, Robert John Robinson, Moline, and stepmother, Darlene Akins, Moline.

Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Janice Cherrington, and stepfather, Johnie Akins.
