MOLINE -- Daniel Leo Collins, of Moline, died Sept. 20, 2004, at his home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24, with a visitation one hour prior at Esterdahl Mortuary Ltd., 6601 38th Ave., Moline. Burial will be at National Cemetery with military honors conducted by American Legion Post No. 246. Daniel was born Jan. 17, 1944, in Moline, to Francis and Dorothy (Carlsen) Collins. He married Joyce McFarland in 1963. He later married Elaine Quilty. Daniel was a bartender at Buzz & Doris' in Moline. Daniel was an Army veteran. Survivors include sons, Daniel Collins Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo., Darren Collins, Davenport, and Derek Collins, Gardener, Kan.; daughter, Angela Roberson, Gardener; brothers, Francis Collins Jr., Moline, Michael Collins, Coal Valley, Ill., and Timothy Johnson; sisters, Theresa Abbott and Nancy Jo Schnieder; and grandchildren, Ryan Roberson, Rock Island, Christopher Collins, Colorado Springs, and Daniel Collins III, Colorado Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Katherine Collins.
