Gerald Machmer

Gerald F. Machmer, 59, of East Moline, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.

Services are 4 p.m. Monday at Family Funeral Services, Colona. Interment of ashes will be at a later date. Visitation is 2 p.m. to service time Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.

He was born May 24, 1944, in Clinton, Iowa, son of Charles and Dora Hohlen Machmer.

He had been involved in marketing and retail sales. He enjoyed listening to classical music and opera, being with his family and taking care of his pets.

He is survived by his mother, Dora McLaughlin, Moline; sisters, Carol A. Wilson, Colona, Debbie Etheridge, Moline, Candy Guss, Rock Island, and Karen Munn, South Haven, Miss.; brothers David Machmer, Rock Island, and Rick McLaughlin, Moline; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.
