ROCK ISLAND -- Donald L. Adams, of Rock Island, died Monday, January 15, 2007, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, ER, Rock Island. Private funeral services will be held Friday evening following visitation at the Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the River Bend Food Pantry. Mr. Adams was born August 11, 1943, in Moline, the son of Harvey and Lenore Jack Adams. Donald was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed by John Deere Cylinder Division until his retirement in 2004. Mr. Adams enjoyed traveling and was an avid golfer. He was a member of several charitable organizations, being most devoted to the “World Vision” ministry. He was the beloved husband of Judy, the honored father of Jeana, Kelly, Laurie, Kristen, Rob and (spouse) Angie, Theresa, Christopher, and Zachary, special papa to Dain, and a grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother of Sue Laden and Robert Adams. Mr. Adams in preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, brother, and grandson. He will be in all our hearts forever and greatly missed.
