I have such fond memories of Tony. It is with sadness to learn of Tony's passing. He was a fun loving guy with great interpersonal skills and a good sense of humor. As the infirmities of becoming a "mature" adult hit us all this is an unwanted reminder about how precious life is.
With great fondness

Tony was a true gentleman. I remember him as always smiling...a sweet, quiet guy with a lovely deep voice! The world is a sadder place without him. Condolences to his family in this difficult time.

Sorry to hear of Tony's passing! To think that we both were trained in Vietnamese prior to deployment is very interesting. It is funny that his face his still so familiar--our teenage faces?, that is--but I cannot come up with specifics...drama, maybe? Vaya con dios, hermano!

According to our senior yearbook, Tony (who was listed by his given name of Wilton) was active in the followiing things during his time at MHS. Hopefully, Phil Nissen, you'll be able to say, "Oh, that's where I remember him from!" I agree that Tony was a well-mannered and well-liked guy.

I remember Tony from church, school and a reunion we both attended. I always thought of him as a friend and "good guy". He was a very thoughtful and polite and talented gentlerman. My prayers and thoughts are with his family and friends.

Looking back 62 years, I still remember Tony. I recall always being delighted when we shared a classroom. He had a great sense of humor and was an exceptional student. He raised the bar for many, including me. Without ever knowing it, we had Vietnam in common, as did many of our classmates. I'm sorry to learn we have lost another pillar from our youth.

Tony and I were classmates from 5th grade to graduation. I once asked him to a dance. His mother and Tony picked me up and my dad drove us home. Later, I think it happened on the Coolidge lawn, I dramatically stapped him across the face (can't remember why and I'm think I was in my dramatic mode: I had seen a leading lady in a movie do that!) Later, much later, at a reunion, Tony remembered me and the slap!
Nancy A Groene (Bené)
I slapped him across the face.

Tony, was a terrific guy and friend. It was always fun to make him, and hear him, laugh. Exchanged Christmas cards with him over the years. Always enjoyed keeping in touch with him. Will be greatly missed. May God comfort his family with the sure and certain hope of our blessed reunion in heaven.
