Having Mr. Dye for civics at John Deere was an exciting experience. He brought high energy to every class. I will always remember the daily up dates about the farm crisis and his double-edged jokes about throwing out food to help the farm crisis. Good memories are left with so many of us.
The Dedrikson familty lived between the Howard Johnson family (on the creek) and the Harris family. They lived north of the Melton family. We all played together, and Gina's mom was the leader of the Brownies. I worked hard one year and sold the most Girl Scout cookies and won a tiny purse to wear on my Brownie belt that added to all the things Girl Scouts add to their uniforms. Her brother was a lot of fun, and when we played outside we made some great memories. I am so sorry Gina has passed, as she was a kind person and so very pretty too. I'll always remember Gina as a part of my great childhood at 3200 Coaltown Road. Our families had great access to a wonderful country life. May her talents and beautiful smile live on in those who were lucky enough to know her.
Opal was sweetness walking. May her family find peace in the many memories her good will and good humor provided.
Steve was always happy, friendly, and kind. We are lucky to have had him in our class, and I immediately thought of his great smile when I saw him picture. Best wishes to his family, who undoubtly have the best memories of all.
